The Cape Town Marathon is on May 24, 2026, and I have the opportunity to join this event through global non-profit organization, Room to Read!

Running and fundraising for Room to Read is a powerful way to help provide young students with the skills and confidence they need to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. I am committed to becoming a charity runner for Room to Read in the 2026 Cape Town Marathon to help 2,500 young learners and girls in historically low-income communities access quality education.

Room to Read envisions a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality, where all children have room to read, learn and grow – creating lasting change.

Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, Room to Read develops children’s foundational literacy skills, as well as life skills that promote gender equality. They nurture these essential skills in children by training and coaching educators, creating quality learning materials and spaces, strengthening education systems, and delivering programs directly and with partners – all while honoring the dignity of every child.
