we are living in a time of immense loss, more so for some than others. many girls in developing countries are losing their chance to be educated, to read, to write – privileges most of us take for granted. i love being able to read, to study, to grow mentally as well as spiritually, physically. the lives we live between pages colour our world more than we realise - this is why campaigning for girls' education means so much to me. i believe that every child deserves a chance to learn, to enjoy the company of knowledge and words. so many girls have their education put second - let's make a change!
every person who makes a donation will be sent a copy of apoleia, which in greek means 'loss'. this is a collection of poems about tragic characters we know from greek mythology who suffer the loss of loved ones. i hope you will consider it a worthy read, and if not, at least a worthy cause.
all funds will go directly to Room to Read, a global non-profit working to ensure children in low-income countries grow up with effective teachers, high quality children's books, and essential life skills to escape the cycle of poverty through quality education. your support helps me reach my goal and gives you the opportunity to make a difference.
