Dear friends,
Peggy and I and another couple will take on the challenge to finish HK trail (50km) in 9 hours on 22 Dec. Many would say this is crazy, hard and unbelievable. We see it as a blessing as we are still physically capable and have the leisure to do so. It is always good to see things with a positive perspective and to offer help to those unprivileged ones. So we are going to make this challenge as a fund raising event as well.
Room to Read is a non-profit organization for improving literacy and gender equality in education in the developing world.
Room to Read envisions a world in which all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities and the world.
By focusing on literacy and gender equality in education, Room to Read transforms the lives of millions of children in low-income communities. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, they help primary school children develop literacy skills and a habit of reading, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.

Why your help matters
We want to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education, with appropriate grade-level texts, a library budding with books, and a safe classroom with teachers helping them resist pressure to drop out for work or marriage. We're creating world change that helps low-income communities break the cycle of poverty by improving literacy rates and getting one step closer to graduation day.
