Pedalling across Portugal to give Room to Read
We - Robert aka "Dezzy" & Johannes - are cycling 300+km from Faro to Lisbon π΅πΉ to raise money for "Room to Read".
Why? Because we believe that world change starts with educated children, so we will drop our laptops (during the day) and get on a bike, cycling over 300km with 50 other riders from Faro to Lisbon with TechBikers β all to raise money for Room to Read!
Room to Read envisions a world where all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential.
- π 1 in 4 children in low-income countries cannot read.
- π©βπ«124 million children and adolescents are not in school
- βοΈ 750 million adults lack basic reading and writing skills.
- βοΈ Nearly 1 billion people are unable to join the conversation because they cannot read or write
Room to Read is creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality. They help children in historically low-income communities teach literacy skills, develop a habit of reading and support girls in particular to succeed in school & life. They work directly with governments and partner organizations to impact children at scale.
Thank you for donating generously and investing in childrenβs futures.
π° Until August 31st: Leadsie will MATCH your donation, so your donation will be worth twice as much (up to a total of β¬1000) πΊ
Thank you!

Why your help matters
We want to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education, with appropriate grade-level texts, a library budding with books, and a safe classroom with teachers helping them resist pressure to drop out for work or marriage. We're creating world change that helps low-income communities break the cycle of poverty by improving literacy rates and getting one step closer to graduation day.
