Running the Berlin marathon for Room to Read
Help us raise funds for Room to Read
Books have been a part of my life from as early as I can recall, and I want the same thing for my kids too. But I'd really love every child to have access to books - and the ability to read.
To this end, I've signed up to run the Berlin Marathon in September 2018 on behalf of Room to Read, which Longitude is proud to support as our company's charity of choice.
All funds will go directly to Room to Read, a global non-profit working to ensure children in low-income countries grow up with effective teachers, high quality children's books, and essential life skills to escape the cycle of poverty through quality education.
Over the past year, the wonderful team at Longitude helped raise over £6,000 to build a library for a school in India. Looking ahead, we're aiming to do even more in 2018/2019.

Why your help matters
We want to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education, with appropriate grade-level texts, a library budding with books, and a safe classroom with teachers helping them resist pressure to drop out for work or marriage. We're creating world change that helps low-income communities break the cycle of poverty by improving literacy rates and getting one step closer to graduation day.
