Why? At Room to Read, we believe that educating girls is widely acknowledged as the most powerful and effective way to address global poverty. Girls who finish secondary school earn more money, have smaller, healthier families, and are more likely to educate their own children - breaking the cycle of illiteracy within their family.  

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, girls in historically under resourced countries faced many challenges to completing their education. We now face a global crisis, disproportionately affecting the world's most vulnerable children, particularly girls, as learning continues to be disrupted at schools. 

How? There's no better way to honor women's achievements than by investing in the next generation. If you believe that every girl has a right to receive an education, join us by Stepping UP for Gender Equality this year. 

The road to recovery from COVID-19 may be long, but with your help we can continue to adapt and evolve our programs to support as many young women as possible. We can't do it alone.

2. Choose and share details of your challenge (Walk, run, bike or any activity of your choice) 

3. Choose your fundraising goal. 

4. Share your campaign with friends and family! 

5. Complete your challenge during a 1-month period.
