We are pleased to announce that Room to Read Japan has been selected as one of the official charity partners of the Tokyo Marathon 2025.
We are looking for charity runners who are willing to take on the challenge with us in support girls' education. We welcome your support, even if it's just a donation!
Why? At Room to Read, we believe that educating girls is widely acknowledged as the most powerful and effective way to address global poverty. Girls who finish secondary school earn more money, have smaller, healthier families, and are more likely to educate their own children - breaking the cycle of illiteracy within their family.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, girls in historically under resourced countries faced many challenges to completing their education. We now face a global crisis, disproportionately affecting the world's most vulnerable children, particularly girls, as learning continues to be disrupted at schools.
How? There's no better way to honor women's achievements than by investing in the next generation. If you believe that every girl has a right to receive an education, join us as a charity runner!
The road to recovery from COVID-19 may be long, but with your help we can continue to adapt and evolve our programs to support as many young women as possible. We can't do it alone. By supporting our Girls’ Education Program, you will be helping to ensure an entire generation is not left behind.
