Why this cause is important to me:

For a girl in one of the most underserved parts of the world, staying in school longer means she is more likely to build a smaller and healthier family and earn a higher wage. She is also more likely to marry later and educate her own children — ending the cycle of illiteracy in one generation.

Room to Read has educated over 57,000 girls through the secondary school scholarship program that teaches life skills in addition to academics and instills confidence.
