Covid has given us many reasons to live in the moment. Find a purpose to live the life to fullest even in challenging time. It tested us in many levels, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.

I know, we haven't won our battles yet but at least gave me an understanding of what life is, what 'Living' really means and what nature can give . 

I want to experience this more . So I made  a decision to venture into the wild and test my grit by climbing Kilimanjaro. I decided to do this along with my 14 year old son, Sanjiv. We also wanted a purpose to drive us home and not drop off at the first challenge we meet. 

With this crisis, girls are at particular risk of losing not only their educations, but their childhoods. We know that with school closures, girls, especially in low-income communities, are at higher risk of early marriage, gender-based violence, child pregnancy, and exploitation. 

Knowledge is power and many of the issues can be addressed by gaining knowledge.                                                                                   

We made getting education closer to such under privileged kids as our purpose and  Room To Read as partner to help us achieve this purpose. 

Room to Read is working with girls in low-income families to help them with stay connected with local, trained female mentors, peer support groups and early warning systems to detect risk and help them get through this time and continue their studies.

Room to Read envisions a world in which all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities and the world.

By focusing on literacy and gender equality in education, Room to Read transforms the lives of millions of children in low-income communities. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, they help primary school children develop literacy skills and a habit of reading, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
