Amazing Trekkers for Education
Every step towards education is a leap towards a better world!
Every step towards education is a leap towards a better world!
Through the extensive preparation and time I have dedicated to trekking, I have been able to reflect on the things that are most important to me. Education has always played a crucial part in my family’s life, especially now with my daughter working particularly hard in her final year of High School. Education is a force that prepares people to lead fulfilled lives and make positive change — in their families, communities and the world.
A group of friends and myself have gathered together to achieve our goal of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in January 2023, a plan that has faced many obstacles in light of the pandemic and other challenges that came in our way. When we finally got the opportunity to make this dream come true, we knew that we truly wanted to take this experience as an opportunity to give back to the community around us. That's where Room to Read - a non-profit organisation present in Tanzania and other parts of the world - came into play. Room to Read helps children in historically low-income communities develop literacy skills and a habit of reading, and supports girls as they build skills to succeed in school and make key life decisions.
We are raising funds and our total goal is USD 3,600 - which would pay for a full one year of education for 72 girls! If you would like to play a part and help us, please do make a donation. Also, feel free to share with friends and family. Every dollar counts and is extremely welcome!

With your help
We want to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education, with appropriate grade-level texts, a library budding with books, and a safe classroom with teachers helping them resist pressure to drop out for work or marriage. We're creating world change that helps historically low-income communities break the cycle of poverty by improving literacy rates and ensuring students get one step closer to graduation day and the lives they choose for themselves.
