Why am I stepping UP?  

My journey volunteering for Room to Read started back in Singapore almost 4 years ago, and now I am super excited to continue my journey in the Sydney Chapter. The support from Kosta for the Step Up campaign is more than welcome!

Educating girls is widely acknowledged as the most powerful and effective way to address global poverty. Girls who finish secondary school earn more money, have smaller, healthier families, and are more likely to educate their own children - breaking the cycle of illiteracy within their families. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, girls in low-income communities faced many challenges to completing their education. We now face a global crisis, disproportionately affecting the world's most vulnerable children, particularly girls, as learning continues to be disrupted at schools. 

Myself and Kosta will be raising funds for Room to Read's Girls' Education Program by walking and running during the month of May! 

 How can you support? 

USD$1 won’t get you very far in your local high street or cafe, but in a low-income community, it could change a life forever. It costs just USD$1 a day to keep a girl in school with the material and emotional support she needs to succeed in school and beyond. There’s no better way to honour women’s achievements than by investing in the next generation.
